Australia now sits inside the top 10 of the overall FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series standings heading into the next phase of the international calendar,

Australia has continued its strong start to the 2026 international 3x3 season, advancing to the quarter-finals at the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series stop in Shanghai after an unbeaten run through qualification and pool play.

The Gangurrus opened the tournament by successfully navigating the qualifying draw, beginning with a dominant 21-4 victory over Sukhbaatar before a convincing 21-11 win against Madagascar secured progression into the main draw.

Australia carried that momentum into Pool C on Saturday, producing two strong performances to remain unbeaten through the group stage.

A balanced offensive display helped the green and gold claim a 21-17 victory over Ulaanbaatar, before backing it up later in the day with a gritty 17-15 win over Czechia to secure a place in the knockout rounds.

The quarter-finals saw Australia’s tournament run come to an end in a hard-fought 21-18 loss to Beijing as the competition’s knockout stage intensified on Sunday.

The result continues a promising stretch for the Gangurrus on the international stage following their gold medal performance at the 2026 FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup earlier this year.

Australia now sits inside the top 10 of the overall FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series standings heading into the next phase of the international calendar, with momentum continuing to build ahead of the 2026 FIBA 3x3 World Cup in Warsaw.
